Petra is an archeological site located on the slope of Mount Hor, Jordan. It is renowned for its rock-cut architecture. It was constructed by the Nabateans as their capital city. Petra is also one of the 7 Modern Wonders of the World 

paris catacombs

The Paris Catacombs were a result of mining. the French made millions of tunnels for mining. When they were finished there were so many dead soldiers from the war that they filled the catacombs with the bones of dug up graves.

the amazon

The great Amazon Jungle is the biggest rain forest in the world. It is more than half of the worlds remaining rain forest’s. The Amazon covers 1.4 billion acres which include nine nations: Brazil is the most covered it has 60% of the forest,followed by Peru which has 13%, and with minor amounts in Colombia,Venezuela,Ecuador,Bolivia,Guyana,Suriname,and French Guiana.It also is the most species rich Tropical Forest in the world.

camuy caverns

The Camuy Caverns are a major tourist attraction located in the north-west town of Camuy, Puerto Rico .They consist of many caverns on the Camuy mountains.


The Sahara is the world’s largest hot desert, located in northern Africa. It stretches from the Red Sea to the Atlantic. The vast Sahara encompasses several ecologically distinct regions. The Sahara desert ecoregion covers an area of 4,619,260 km (1,791,500 square miles) in the hot, hyper-arid center of the Sahara, surrounded on the north, south, east, and west by desert ecoregions with higher rainfall and more vegetation.

mount olympus

Mount Olympus is the highest mountain in Greece. In Greek mythology it was said that the gods lived on Mount Olympus and that if a mortal went up there the gods would punish him.

grand canyon

The Grand Canyon is 277 miles  long, ranges in width from 4 to 18 miles and attains a depth of over a mile. Nearly two billion years of the Earth’s geological history have been exposed as the Colorado River and its tributaries cut their channels through layer after layer of rock while the Colorado Plateau was uplifted. The “canyon began in the west, followed by another that formed in the east. Eventually, the two broke through and met as a single majestic rent in the earth some six million years ago.

mauna loaMauna Loa is the biggest volcano in the world and makes up one of the Hawaii islands. It is now one of the main reasons that people go to the island. The volcano is still active.
